Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are a seasoned camper or new to this great family activity, you probably have questions! Please check below to see if your answer is here. If not please do not hesitate to contact us.

Question: When is Your Camping Season

Camping Season is from April 15th to October 31st.

Question: Do you have planned activities?

While we do have planned activities occasionally, which you can see on our "Activities" page, we also have many things for our campers to do on their own, including swimming and horse shoes. For groups or families we have equipment for baseball, basketball, horseshoes etc. On occasion we have "Old Time Movies," and a campground story teller who will visit your campsite. Games and a circulating library of books are available in the loft above the campground office/store.

Question: Can I bring firewood in with me?

Unfortunately you can not. Because of problems with beetles, etc. only kiln-dried wood can be brought into the state of Connecticut. We do have firewood available from the camp store.

Even within the state of Connecticut there are quarantines because of pests in firewood.

Click This Link for Map of CT with Quarantines.

Question: Do I have to bring my own linens and towels when staying in a cottage?

You will need to bring your own bedding; pillows, linens or sleeping bags, and towels.

Question: If we bring our bikes are there any good biking trails nearby?

Yes. There are several state parks and the Airline Trail where you and your family can safely ride.

Question: Do you have full hookups?

We have 24 full hookup sites, which include water, electricity and sewer. Our other sites have water and electric.  All RV site hook-ups are 20-30-50 amps. We have an easy access dump station or for a small fee you can get pumped out with our vacuum powered honey wagon.

Question: Do you have any pull-through sites?

Yes. Most sites are pull-through

Question: Do you have water on the property or a lake?

We have a pool and are within one mile of Moodus Reservoir, for boating, fishing, swimming, etc. We are also very near the Salmon River. There are kayak and boat rentals nearby as well as fishing.

Question: What is your policy regarding dogs?

All pets must be leashed at all times – no exceptions.  You must clean up after your pet(s).  Campers with pets that become a nuisance or are disturbing fellow campers due to continuous barking/noise will be evicted from the park. Be sure to bring health records for your pet with you for check-in. No pets allowed in cabins, office, pool area or other buildings.

Question: Can I have an extra RV or Tent on my site?

No extra RV. To add a small tent to an RV site is $35 a day. For tenters renting an RV site, an additional tent can be added for $35.

Question: Are there any tourist attractions close by?

Yes! There are many attractions in the area. Check our "Activities" page, which contains several links. We also keep an attraction information rack in the camp store, including a winery tour suggestion.

Question: How do I get there?

Directions can be found on Reservations and Information Page.

IMPORTANT: If you are using a GPS system, DO NOT turn down Powerhouse Road, Waterhole Road, Pickerel Lake or Trowbridge Road. Use directions from Reservations page.

Question: Can I have visitors?

Our capacity to allow visitors is limited. Please read Visitor Poicy and fees under "Policies" page.
